Well-known hiking trails in the Jeschkengebirge , Lusatian Mountains , Jizera Mountains , Giant Mountains , Ore Mountains , Thuringian Forest and Harz Mountains are designated as ridge trails .

History

The first ridge trail under this name was a long-distance hiking trail opened in 1904 along the ridge lines of the Elster Mountains, Ore Mountains, Bohemian Switzerland, Lusatian Mountains, Jeschken Mountains, Jizera and Giant Mountains, Glatzer Schneegebirge and Jeseníky Mountains and at that time the longest tourist trail in German-speaking countries.

The current ridge trail (Czech: Hřebenovka ) is identical to the European long-distance hiking trail E3 , usually has a red or blue marking and is provided with the blue ridge trail signs on a red background. It was re-marked as part of an EU-funded project.

Ridge path in the Jeschken Mountains - eastern branch

The eastern branch of the Jeschken Ridge Trail runs as follows: Jeschken (Ješted) - Ještedka - Skalka - Pláne pod Ještedem (Kühneibaude) - Hlubocký hrbet (Lubokeier ridge) - U Šámalu - Rašovský hrbet (Raschener ridge) - Rašovice (Raschener ridge) sedlo (582 m) - Javornická kaple - Javorník (Jaberlich-Berg) (684 m) with restaurant "Obrí sud" (To the giant barrel) - Záskalí (Saskall) with the Nepomuk chapel (chapel sv. Kammweg in the Ore Mountains and Vogtland

Since 2011 the Kammweg tradition has been continued here with the Kammweg Erzgebirge – Vogtland , which runs exclusively on the German side.
