Ridge path

The Kammweg , also known as Löbbeckestieg , is a path along the ridge of the Teufelsmauer in the northern Harz foreland in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt .

section carved into the rock

The path runs from the grandfather rock near Blankenburg on the Teufelsmauer for about three kilometers to the east to the Hamburg coat of arms near Timmenrode . It leads past striking rock formations such as the Löbbecke rock , the Brockenblick , the devil's armchairs and the Caesar rock as well as the old Heidelbergwarte . Other cliffs are the Turnerfelsen , the Hohe Sonne , the Fahnenfelsen , the Schweinkopf , the Teufelskessel , the Zwergenhöhle and the Ludwigsfelsen .

The Kammweg was laid out in 1853 at the instigation of the Mayor of Blankenburg, Carl Löbbecke , and due to its location offers a large number of viewpoints into the surrounding area. The narrow path is partly carved into the rock and secured with railings. Due to its course, it is not barrier-free .
