Löbbecke rocks
The Löbbecke rock is a striking rock formation in the western part of the Teufelsmauer in the northern Harz foreland near Blankenburg in the Harz district , Saxony-Anhalt .
A cast iron memorial plaque to the Blankenburg mayor Carl Löbbecke has been inserted into the west side of the rock . It is:
In
memory of
Carl Löbbecke,
geb. June 4, 1809 in Braunschweig,
died June 22, 1869 in Lippspringe,
Mayor of Blankenburg
1850-1859
If one did not think of it after value
The good has given the world,
so it would be all without value,
what good is given to the world.
The rock over which passing along the ridge of the Teufelsmauer leads ridge trail , also known as Löbbecke-Stieg is called.
