The Černý Štolpich , also Velký Štolpich or Velký Sloupský potok (German Black Stolpich ) is the right and longer source stream of the Sloupský potok ( Stolpichbach ) in the Czech Republic .
course
The Černý Štolpich rises on the eastern slope of the Holubník ( pigeon house , 1070 m) on the ridge of the Jizera Mountains and initially flows in a northerly direction. West of the Na Skalce (963 m) the stream changes its course to the northwest and falls over the cascades of the Stolpich Falls 30 m down. Between the Ořešník ( Nussstein , 800 m) and the Krásná Maři ( Schöne Marie ), the Černý Štolpich forms a three-and-a-half kilometer long rocky gorge with cataracts and other smaller waterfalls, in which the stream climbs 400 meters.
Then the Černý Štolpich reaches the Jizera foothills and flows through Ferdinandov . West of the hill Na Chatkách (465 m), the Černý Štolpich joins the Bílý Štolpich to form Sloupský potok .
Stolpichstrasse / Štolpišská silnice
From 1891 the Stolpichstraße was laid out in the Black Stolpich Gorge; it originally served to improve the forestry development of the forests on the Jizera Mountains ridge and, after its completion as a connecting route over the ridge to Bedřichov, also gained tourist importance.
