The burial chapel of Userhet is located in Thebes- West in Egypt . It has the modern number TT176 ( Theban Tomb 176 ).

The Chapel of the Userhet only consists of a single room that was once completely painted. The chapel has an entrance on the east and a niche on the west. Userhet was a lower official in the administration of the temple of Amun in Karnak . He carried the titles of servant of Amun , servant clean in hands and excellent servant . He lived in the 18th dynasty , probably under Thutmose IV. The wall paintings in the chapel show harvest scenes, the so-called Abydos journey , Userhet in front of the tree goddess, sacrificial scenes, but also Userhet or his family at a celebration.

The grave has been examined several times. At the beginning of the twentieth century it was visited by Norman de Garis Davies and Nina de Garis Davies , who sketched two grave scenes. The German Egyptologist Siegfried Schott took around 17 photos that show the grave in a good state of preservation. Bruno Sandkühler visited the grave between 1961 and 1964 and took a few more photos. In 1994 the Belgian Egyptologist Bram Calcoen examined the grave and drew all the remains of the wall paintings. The paintings were badly damaged in the meantime. She published her results in 2012.
