history

The church, named in a letter of indulgence in 1300, was rebuilt in 1533 and restored from 1893 to 1894.

architecture

The church consists of a rectangular building under a gable roof, a retracted choir under a half-hip roof and an octagonal bell tower above the choir. The tower has arched sound openings and an onion hood. The pointed arch portal with round bar and valley, dated 1533, is protected by a canopy. The room is illuminated by flat arched windows with tracery and pointed arched windows. A trapezoidal ceiling spans the hall. Behind a retracted, pointed arched choir arch is the retracted two-bay choir with a 3/8 end with a ribbed vault and two pointed arched windows.

The frescoes were created in 1893/1894 by Johann Kärle and Emmanuel Walch: Saints Agnes, Aloysius and Joseph on the left, Saint Cäcilia on the right and Saints Margaretha, Magdalena, Theresia, Notburga, Gabriel, Raphael, Germania, Franziska, Klara and in the vault Juliana. On the choir arch, Christ is depicted as the judge of the world with a trumpet angel, in the nave, St. Michael and purgatory with church and pope, on the walls on the left the glory of Christ and on the right Christ with the Book of the Seven Seals with the Damned.

Furnishing

The neo-Gothic high altar bears reliefs, centered with St. Michael, on the left St. Joachim, on the right St. Anna, in the excerpt of St. Joseph, all from the late 19th century. The figures on the choir arch wall, Maria Immaculata on the left and the Sacred Heart on the right, date from the 20th century, the crucifix from the 17th century.

To the north in the choir is Franz Ammann's grave as an open niche arcade with a crucifix from the end of the 19th century.
