Dehio Vorarlberg 1983

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Dehio-Handbuch - Die Kunstdenkmäler Österreichs - Vorarlberg appeared in 1983 as the 6th volume of a new Austrian Dehio series started in 1974 by the Federal Monuments Office .

Elaboration

The Dehio sees itself as a basic inventory, which at that time should be mentioned from the point of view of monument protection and preservation from historical, artistic and cultural significance. Since Vorarlberg was not included in the revision of the Austrian Dehios in the 1950s, the first Dehio, which was still common with other Austrian federal states, from 1933, with only 32 pages, had to be used. The Dehio from 1983 includes surveys from 1981 to 1983 and fills 480 pages, whereby the profane buildings were particularly important. Gert Ammann, who was previously active for Dehio Tirol in 1980 , contributed sacred and secular buildings. Martin Bitschnau, also previously Dehio Tirol 1980 , was the editor for castles, palaces and mansions. Elmar Vonbank contributed the chapter on the topography of prehistoric and Roman sites in Vorarlberg . Vonbank's colleague Paul Rachbauer followed up with The Most Important Historical Rural Forms of Farms and Houses in Vorarlberg .
