Helmut Swozilek

Helmut Swozilek (born October 9, 1945 in Bregenz ) is an Austrian historian, archaeologist and museum director.

Between 1963 and 1971 Helmut Swozilek studied art history and archeology with a focus on prehistory. He completed internships in Egypt, Syria and Iraq before taking up a position at the Vorarlberg State Museum in Bregenz in 1974. Swozilek was its director from 1986 until his retirement in 2006.
