Dehio Burgenland 1976

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Dehio-Handbuch - Die Kunstdenkmäler Österreichs - Burgenland was published in 1976 as the second volume of a new Austrian Dehio series started in 1974 by the Federal Monuments Office .

Elaboration

The Dehio sees itself as a basic inventory, which at that time should be mentioned from the point of view of monument protection and preservation from historical, artistic and cultural significance. Since Burgenland was not included in the revision of the Austrian Dehios in the 1950s, the first Dehio Burgenland from 1935, with only 41 pages, had to be used. After Adelheid Schmeller-Kitt had completed the art topographical treatment of the Oberwart district in 1974 , she was entrusted with the development of the dehio. The inventory was started in 1973 and completed in 1975 and supplemented with supplements until July 1976. Ernst Bacher , Wolfram Helke and Horst R. Huber contributed to the characterizations of the southern Burgenland . Two works that comprehensively presented the art history of Burgenland, 1929 by Dagobert Frey , Das Burgenland, seine Buildings and Art Treasures , and from 1965 by the state curator Alfred Schmeller , Das Burgenland , were used as a basis.
