Dehio Tirol 1980

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Dehio-Handbuch - Die Kunstdenkmäler Österreichs - Tirol was published in 1980 as the fourth volume of a new Austrian Dehio series started in 1974 by the Federal Monuments Office .

The manual lists monuments within the meaning of Section 1 of the Monument Protection Act, i.e. immovable and movable objects of historical, artistic and other cultural significance regardless of whether there is a public interest in their preservation. On the one hand, the Dehio is an aid to monuments research, on the other hand, an art guide, as it should also spread the appreciation for art and cultural monuments.

The Tyrol part in the first volume of the Österreich-Dehios, published in 1932, comprised 147 pages. In the expanded edition of 1956 250 pages. The new edition from 1980 has 984 pages. The concept as well as the planning and implementation for the reworking was done by Eva Frodl-Kraft . The tours began in 1976. The manuscript was completed on January 1, 1980. Horst Richard Huber and until 1978 Wolfram Helke did the work at the institute in Vienna. Erich Egg, head of the Tyrolean Provincial Museum Ferdinandeum , worked on site with employees Gert Ammann and Meinrad Pizzinini , as did Herta Öttl and Josef Franckenstein from the cultural department of the Tyrolean provincial government and director Hans Gschnitzer from the Innsbruck Folk Art Museum . The former state curators, Oswald Graf Trapp and Johanna Gritsch, provided technical assistance. Karl Schütz and Egon Krauss and Alfred Reichling taught data on historical organs, like Josef Pfundner on bells.
