Friedrich Koenig Medal

The Friedrich Koenig Medal was donated in 1953 in memory of the inventor of the printing press Friedrich Koenig (1774–1833) for special services in the field of printing machine construction.

With the award of the Friedrich Koenig Medal, leading figures in the printing machine industry are honored for their extraordinary services to research and teaching in printing machine construction. A board of trustees of the TU Darmstadt and the Forschungsgesellschaft Druckmaschinen eV in the Association of German Mechanical and Plant Engineering (VDMA), Frankfurt, decide on the award of the Friedrich Koenig Medal .
