Friedrich Augstein

Friedrich Franz Maria Augstein (* 1884 ; † after 1940 ) was a German entrepreneur.

Augstein came from Bingen and was the son of the wine merchant Joseph Augstein. In 1913 he sold his stake in his father's wine shop and acquired a stake in Orionwerk Bülter & Stammer , a factory for photo goods in Hanover . Orion-Werk AG emerged from this company in 1921 , and remained its managing director in the 1920s. In 1928 he sold his company share; Orion-Werk AG went bankrupt five years later.

In 1938 he opened the Photo-Augstein photo shop in Hanover - specialty: excellent enlargements - at Vahrenwalder Strasse 39b.

His sons were Rudolf Augstein and Josef Augstein .
