Friedrich Baur (lawyer)

Friedrich Gottlob Ludwig Baur (born May 4, 1829 in Hausen an der Lauchert , † July 11, 1893 in Reutlingen ) was a Württemberg lawyer and politician.

family

Friedrich Baur was the son of pastor Johann Georg Friedrich Baur (1800–1868) in Hausen and Karoline geb. Eble († 1845).

job

He was a lawyer in Reutlingen. From 1858 to 1869 he worked as a church and school caretaker, from 1867 he was secretary at the Reutlingen Chamber of Commerce and board member of the Reutlinger Gewerbeverein.

politics

In 1872 and 1873 Baur was chairman of the citizens' committee in Reutlingen and since 1875 a member of the municipal council. In 1882 he was elected to the Württemberg state parliament in the constituency of Reutlingen (city) , and in 1889 he defended his mandate very clearly against the social democratic applicant Karl Kloß . He exercised the mandate until his death.

Honors

Friedrich Baur received the war commemorative coin from 1870/71 for non-combatants, as well as the great gold medal for trade and commerce and the anniversary medal.
