Friedrich Döpke

Friedrich Döpke (born February 1, 1898 in Oldenburg ; † July 25, 1966 there ) was a German politician ( KPD ).

Life

After attending primary school , Döpke began an apprenticeship as a coppersmith. He became a member of the union in 1915 and a member of the USPD in 1918 . Döpke became a member of the KPD in 1922.

He worked as a coppersmith and heating fitter until 1931, when he became a full-time party secretary of the KPD. In 1933 he was arrested for political reasons after the Gestapo seized power . He was taken into “ protective custody ” in a concentration camp and remained in prison until July 1935. Between 1935 and 1939 he worked again as a heating fitter and worked in the resistance movement. In 1939 he was put into military service until the end of the Second World War . In July 1945 he was released from American prisoner-of-war captivity, which he found himself at the end of the war.

From 1927 to 1933 he was a member of the city council in Oldenburg. In 1945 he also became a member of the city council in Oldenburg and deputy mayor. He was also chairman of the district special aid committee and councilor of the city of Oldenburg. Between January 30, 1946 and November 6, 1946 he was a member of the appointed Oldenburg Parliament . He was elected spokesman for the KPD parliamentary group. In the first electoral term he was elected a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament from March 10, 1948 to April 30, 1951.
