Friedrich Goehring

Friedrich Göhring (born May 19, 1876 in Hossingen ; † July 2, 1948 in Wiblingen ) was a German publicist and politician.

Life

job

After attending primary school in Hossingen , Göhring did an apprenticeship as a painter and then went on a hike. He came to Ulm around 1898 . Until 1905 he worked as a decorative painter. From 1905 to 1915 he was a tobacco merchant in Ulm. He then worked there as an editor for the SPD newspaper “Donau-Wacht”. In 1933 he moved to Wiblingen (today a district of Ulm), where he settled as a small farmer.

politics

Friedrich Göhring was a member of the SPD and its 1st chairman in Ulm between 1900 and 1933. After four unsuccessful Reichstag candidacies between 1903 and 1912, he took part in the 1919 state constitutional assembly. In 1920 he was elected to the Württemberg state parliament in the Ulm-Heidenheim constituency, to which he belonged until 1933. From 1909 to 1933 he was also a member of the Ulm City Council. Under pressure from the National Socialists , he resigned his mandates in 1933.

Private

Göhring was the son of the manufactory weaver Jakob Göhring (* 1829; † 1889) and Eva Göhring geb. Eisele (* 1831; †?) And had six siblings. In 1900 he married Julie Eisele (* 1874; †?), With whom he had three children.
