Friedrich Harder
Friedrich Harder (born December 22, 1891 in Ahlten , † February 3, 1944 in the Auschwitz military hospital) was a German SS-Hauptscharführer .
From August 1943 to January 1944, Harder was camp leader in the Auschwitz gypsy camp , a section of the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp . He died after being “deliberately infected with typhus ” by inmates in the camp .
On April 20, 1943 he received the War Merit Medal .
