Friedrich Georg Hendel (born December 14, 1874 in Vienna ; † June 26, 1936 there ) was an Austrian principal school director, entomologist and dipterologist .

He conducted research in the field of Diptera (Diptera), found it a lot of new species and created a classification scheme ( taxonomy ) of Diptera.

In accordance with his wishes, his valuable collection and library became the property of the Natural History Museum in Vienna after his death .
