Friedrun Huemer (born February 28, 1944 ) is a retired Austrian politician ( Greens ). From 1996 to 2001 she was a non-executive councilor in Vienna .

The psychologist Friedrun Huemer did her doctorate in biology and has her political roots in the ecological movement of the 1970s. Huemer initially worked in the regional organization of the Vienna Greens and was a member of the Vienna State Parliament and a member of the Vienna City Council between December 9, 1991 and November 29, 1996. She was sworn in on November 27, 1996 as a city councilor without a department in the state government of Häupl II , to which she belonged until the end of the government period on April 27, 2001. Huemer was the cultural spokesperson for the Greens, and her main focus was on social issues and human rights. Among other things, Huemer was committed to the SOS Mitmensch initiative and fought against sexual discrimination. Since 2006, Friedrun Huemer has been chairwoman of HEMAYAT - Care Center for Torture and War Survivors .
