Frisian Droapen

The Friesen-Droapen ( Frisian meeting, known until 1998 under the name “ Sternfahrt der Frisians ”) is a cultural event lasting several days on the Frisian island of Helgoland .

The event takes place every three years and is intended to provide a picture of the Frisian dance and music culture in all its diversity. More recently there have also been events on Frisian games and media. The contributions come from all over the Frisian settlement area . The event lasts two to three days and attracts thousands of visitors to Helgoland.

The Friesen-Droapen is a joint initiative of the municipality of Helgoland , the Friesenrat and the state of Schleswig-Holstein .
