Fresh F 2020

The Frisch F 2020 was a wheeled dozer manufactured by the construction machinery manufacturer Frisch in Kissing . It was the first articulated wheel dozer on the European market. Production started in 1970 after two years of development work. Four years later, Frisch presented its customers with the successor model Frisch F 2020 B , which could also be ordered with a side-loading crane. With the takeover of Frisch GmbH by FAUN-Werke in 1977, the production of this wheel dozer model ended.

The F 2020 was powered by an 8-cylinder Deutz diesel engine with a continuous output of 188 hp. The machine also had a torque converter as well as a manual , reversing and transfer case . The chassis consisted of two rigid axles with self-locking differentials and planetary drives in the wheel hubs. For the tires, Frisch used new types of Lypsoid tires (low pressure tires) that were specially developed for the F 2020. With these tires there is no tire flank, which means that at an air pressure of 0.8 bar there is no tire-destroying flexing work.

The front shield was connected to the machine frame by means of two push rods and could be adjusted hydraulically. The pushing force on the blade was 20.7 tons, which is less than that of a bulldozer with a similar engine power. However, the buyers appreciated the relatively high speed and maneuverability as well as the low maintenance costs compared to the bulldozer. The wheel dozer was used in road and earthworks as well as in opencast mining.
