Fritz Astl

Fritz Astl (born November 30, 1944 in Kössen ; † November 2, 2000 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and principal school director. Astl was a member of the Tyrolean state parliament from 1982 to 1989 and a regional councilor in the Tyrolean state government from 1989 to 2000 .

Astl started his career as a teacher in Kössen and rose to become principal school director. In addition, he was mayor of Kössen for nine years until 1989 and represented the ÖVP in the Tyrolean state parliament from September 1, 1982 to April 4, 1989. On April 4, 1989, he was sworn to the state council in the Tyrolean state government, of which he belonged until his death. Astl belonged to the state governments of Weingartner I , II and III , where during his second term in office he was responsible for the fields of culture, school, sport, labor market and employee promotion and nature conservation and was responsible for education in his last term of office.

Astl died of cancer at the age of 56 and was buried on November 6, 2000 in the Kössen cemetery. Astl was married and had one daughter.
