State government Weingartner III

The provincial government Weingartner III formed the Tyrolean provincial government from the state elections in 1999 until the resignation of governor Wendelin Weingartner . She succeeded the state government Weingartner II . The members of the state government were sworn in on March 30, 1999. After the proportional representation system was abolished in 1998, the ÖVP and SPÖ formed a grand coalition.

During the term of office of the Weingartner III provincial government, there were two changes in the government team. Provincial councilor Fritz Astl (ÖVP) was replaced by Günther Platter as regional education councilor in 2000 , and Herbert Prock resigned in 2002 . While the existing state councilor Christa Gangl took over his social agendas, the new SPÖ party chairman Hannes Gschwentner came to the state government and took over Gangl's environmental department.
