State government Platter I
The state government Platter I was the first Tyrolean state government under Governor Günther Platter from July 1, 2008 to May 24, 2013.
Government formation
Although the ÖVP and SPÖ had suffered heavy losses in the state elections in Tyrol in 2008 , the two parties continued their coalition. Even after the election, the FPÖ stuck to its announcement that it would not elect any of the losers as governor. Fritz Dinkhauser also called for the resignation of Governor van Staa and Provincial Councilor Steixner after the election, another reason for the failure of a coalition between ÖVP and Dinkhauser was the rejection of the Brenner base tunnel, the expansion of hydropower and the realization of the Tschirgant tunnel by Fritz Dinkhauser.
On March 8, 2012, Johannes Tratter (ÖVP) succeeded his party colleague Christian Switak, who had left the state government . He took over most of the agendas of his predecessor. The finance department previously taken over by this, however, was transferred to the responsibility of Governor Platter, who in turn transferred the community agendas to Tratter's area of responsibility.
