State government Tschiggfrey I
The provincial government Tschiggfrey I formed the Tyrolean provincial government during the fourth legislative period . The state government under Governor Hans Tschiggfrey was elected on November 12, 1957 and was in office until November 7, 1961.
In the state elections in 1957, the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) acquired the right to six of the eight seats in government subsequently agreed, including the governor, a deputy governor and four state councilors. The Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ) was also represented in the state government by a deputy governor due to the proportional representation system, and the SPÖ also provided a state councilor. While Governor Tischiggfrey was elected with 30 of the 36 possible votes (with five votes cast blank and one vote for Hans Gamper ), the election of the remaining members of the government took place according to proportional representation through the written nomination of the government members by the two state parliament clubs of the ÖVP and SPÖ.
During the government period there were two changes within the state government. After the resignation of Deputy Governor Franz Hüttenberger (SPÖ) on March 29, 1960, the 2nd Vice President of the Landtag, Karl Kunst, took over the office of Deputy Governor on the same day . A short time later, on June 28, 1960, SPÖ Provincial Councilor Alois Heinz resigned from his position. He was followed by Rupert Zechtl after.
