Hans Tschiggfrey (born March 8, 1904 in Nauders , † June 30, 1963 in Innsbruck ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ).

After primary school, Hans Tschiggfrey attended the Franziskanergymnasium in Hall in Tirol and studied law and political science at the University of Innsbruck , where he received his doctorate in 1930. After the court year he was a lawyer and subsequently in the Chamber of Commerce. He had been a candidate for the NSDAP since October 1938 . According to the historian Michael Wladika , whether there was membership in the NSDAP afterwards must remain open due to a lack of sources.

In 1946 he was head of the Tyrolean Agriculture Office, from 1953 to 1963 a member of the Tyrolean state parliament , from 1949 to 1963 state finance officer and from 1957 to 1963 governor of Tyrol . From 1962 to 1963 he was regional party leader of the Tyrolean People's Party .

Under his government, the country left the post-war era behind and the economy normalized. The South Tyrol problem moved more into the international focus.

He was an original member of the Catholic student association KÖHV Leopoldina Innsbruck in the ÖCV , as well as an honorary member of three other associations in Innsbruck.
