Hans Waldemar Ernst Tielecke (born July 12, 1909 in Tegel , † October 20, 1979 in Magdeburg ) was a German biologist.

Life

Hans Tielecke studied natural sciences in Berlin . In order to give him the opportunity for anatomical and animal geographic examinations, he was given a job in the department for molluscs of the Berlin Zoological Museum . In 1940 he received his doctorate. He also taught biology and geography at secondary schools in Berlin. Together with the students, Tielecke was evacuated from Berlin during the Second World War .

After the war Tielecke became head in 1949 during a Rübenderbrüßler -Plage in Saxony-Anhalt , first in Pörsten founded and then in the summer of 1950 after Blösien in Merseburg in the Werksgut of Leuna-Werke branch of the laid Biological Central Institute of Agriculture and Forestry . In 1952 he worked in the Aschersleben branch . The main focus of the work was on issues relating to bee tolerance of insecticides . In particular, he succeeded in detecting bee poisoning through the use of insecticides.

In 1953, Tielecke took over the management of the zoological department of the biological institute of the chemical plant VEB Fahlberg-List in the southeast of Magdeburg, which also produces insecticides . He held this position until 1974. He builds on his previous work on bee tolerance and developed methods to efficiently test new chemical compounds for their effect on insects in general and bees in particular. He was significantly involved in the development and testing of the insecticide Melipax with the active ingredient Toxaphen , which was harmless to bees despite being used in flowering cultures.

Tielecke published articles in books and magazines that dealt with the problems of the use of insecticides, and thereby also addressed the general public. In addition to lectures, he also created a color film In the service of protecting bees .
