Fritz Bally

Fritz Bally (born October 24, 1823 in Schönenwerd ; † December 19, 1878 ) was a Swiss entrepreneur and co-founder of the Bally shoe factory .

In 1849 Fritz Bally and his brother Carl Franz Bally took over the braces and elastics production from their father Peter Bally . In 1851 they expanded the company to include shoe manufacturing, which involved considerable risks and investments. In 1854 Fritz Bally left the company after disagreements. Together with his brother-in-law, he continued the “Schuh-Elastique-Fabrikation” under the name “Bally & Schmitter” in Aarau . The company was liquidated in 1903 by the son Eugen Bally II.

Fritz Bally married Adeline Schmitter from Aarau in 1849. They had four children: Eugen Bally (* 1850), Alice Bally (* 1852), Olga Bally (* 1854) and Fritz Bally II (* 1858).
