Fritz Driescher senior (* 1886 ; † 1951 ) was a German electrical engineer .

Life

Driescher recognized early on how important the power supply would be. In 1909 he founded his company for the electrification of wells, centrifuges, chopping and threshing machines in Kapellen am Niederrhein, which employed 30 electricians in the following year. Driescher acquired an imperial patent for its concentric double cone clamps. This connection element for overhead lines, for which he founded a small metal goods factory, gave him access to the electricity suppliers. In the medium voltage sector, he solved many tasks in switch and system construction. In 1925 he moved to Rheydt and in 1938 founded a large branch in Moosburg an der Isar / Upper Bavaria. This was ten years later by his son Fritz Driescher jun. (1910–1986) adopted. Since there was a shortage in the supply of technical porcelain after the war, he founded a porcelain factory in Emmelshausen / Hunsrück in 1947 .

In 1951, the youngest son Heinz Driescher took over the company in Rheydt and relocated production to Wegberg . The production facility still exists today.
