Fritz Hardt

Fritz Hardt (born November 24, 1873 in Radevormwald ; † July 7, 1959 in Bad Nauheim ) was an important entrepreneur from the Hardt family of industrialists.

Life

He comes from the Hardt family of industrialists, who operated the textile companies " Johann Wülfing & Sohn " in Dahlerau and " Hardt, Pocorny & Co " in Dahlhausen .

In 1898, at the age of 25, after completing his training at home and abroad, he joined the old family business as a partner, and eight years later, in 1906, he took over the management of the cloth factory in Dahlhausen as the successor to his deceased father, the secret councilor Fritz Hardt take over. He also took part in running the entire company with his cousins.

In their heyday, industrial companies employed over 4,000 people. The industrial development of the Bergisches Land and especially of the Wupper towns (now part of Radevormwald) was decisively promoted.

Hardt's great merit in the period after the Second World War was the construction of apartments, the expansion of the hospital, the establishment of a social center for his workers and the support of local associations and welfare institutions.

He is an honorary citizen of the city of Radevormwald and was honored on November 24, 1949 for his exemplary social attitude at the time. He was also called "father of Dahlerau".
