Fritz Kutscher

Fritz Kutscher (Friedrich Kutscher; born April 23, 1907 in Manubach , † November 29, 1988 in Wiesbaden ) was a German geologist and paleontologist .

Kutscher studied in Mainz, Heidelberg and Berlin, where he received his doctorate in 1932 ( on the origin of Hunsrück slate on the Middle Rhine and on the Hunsrück ). From 1933 to 1939 he was with the Prussian Geological State Institute and after the Second World War at the Hessian State Office for Soil Research .

Among other things, he dealt with the fossils and deposit conditions of the Hunsrück slate (published in the notebooks of the Hessian State Office for Soil Research from 1962 or in its successor publication Geological Yearbook Hessen).

Kutscher wrote a total of 220 publications, 75 of which were devoted to palaeontological and stratigraphic topics of the Hunsrück landscape and the Middle Rhine.
