Fritz Plato

Fritz Plato (* 1858 ; † 1938 ) was a German chemist and director of the German Institute for Weights and Measures . The original wort concentration in beer is named after him.

In 1900 Fritz Plato published a table based on the findings of the Bohemian chemist Karl Josef Napoleon Balling , with which he further developed the measurement system of the same name, which was introduced in 1843. The unit of measurement found by Plato, degree Plato (° P) was named after him. At the time of its publication, Plato was director of the German Institute for Weights and Measures .
