Fronhofen forms the south-eastern edge of the built-up area of ​​Wehingen. It is located in the valley of the Untere Bära on the Großer Heuberg , in the direction of Harras on the Reichenbacher Straße.

In the Middle Ages, local nobles from the Hohenberg rulership of Fronhofen sat . At that time Fronhofen had 6 residents, exclusively clergy and their employees.

Fronhof Church

The "Fronhofer Dreifaltigkeitskirche" belongs to the Wehingen parish of St. Ulrich, one of the oldest churches in the Tuttlingen district ("the mother church of the Heuberg"). The church was first mentioned in 843, the current church was built in 1480. The tower with a stepped gable dates from the 15th century. The cemetery surrounding the church was laid out around 1800 and has a historic cemetery wall with a wrought iron gate. Inside the Fronhofer Church there is a small organ made by the organ builder Martin Braun in its original state, which can also be played. From 2005 to 2013 the church was renovated with the financial help of a civil society.
