Reichenbach am Heuberg is a small municipality in the district of Tuttlingen in Baden-Württemberg , Germany .
geography
Geographical location
Reichenbach is located on the Großer Heuberg , a plateau in the south of the Swabian Alb . The Lower Bear flows through the church. In addition, a small source stream ( Reichenbach or Talbach) flows through the community and flows into the Bära .
Neighboring communities
The municipality borders in the north on Obernheim and in the east on Nusplingen , both in the Zollernalbkreis , in the south-east on Egesheim , in the south-west on Bubsheim and in the north-west on Wehingen .

The village of Reichenbach am Heuberg and the hamlet of Holzwiesen (Martinsberg) belong to the municipality of Reichenbach am Heuberg.
history
Reichenbach am Heuberg was first mentioned in a document in 793. The village belonged to the County of Hohenberg . With this it came to Front Austria in 1391 , where it remained until it became part of Württemberg in 1805 . In the Kingdom of Württemberg , the municipality was assigned to the Spaichingen District Office. In the course of the regional reform in 1938, the village became part of the Tuttlingen district.
Reichenbach was the terminus of the Heubergbahn from 1928 to 1966 .
The former farming village has become an industrial and residential community.

The community is a member of the community administration association es Heuberg, based in Wehingen.
mayor
The honorary mayor Josef Bär (* 1952), who has been in office since 1988, was the full-time mayor of Wehingen from 1981 to 2016.
On March 24, 2019, Hans Marquart (* 1959) was elected as his successor and was the only candidate to be elected. Marquart has been the mayor of Egesheim since 2018. Born in Reichenbach, he took up his position in Reichenbach in June 2019. The two municipalities then share a full-time mayor.
Culture and sights
The municipality is affiliated with the "Donaubergland" tourist association.
Buildings
In the Catholic parish church of St. Nikolaus ( rococo furnishings ) there is one of the few surviving organs by the master organ builder Hieronymus Spiegel .
