Football Association on the Lower Weser

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The football association on the Lower Weser (FadU) was a local football association for the villages of Lehe, Bremerhaven and Geestemünde at the mouth of the Weser. The FadU was founded on April 15, 1900 . As far as is known, he did not join the DFB .

In 1900 there were seven clubs on the Unterweser where football was played.

The first championship of the football association on the Unterweser was held in the 1900/01 season. In two classes, four clubs took part with their first and reserve teams in the point games. Since two clubs left the association at the end of October 1900 , the championship in 2nd class was canceled and the two remaining reserve teams were placed in 1st class. FC Bremerhaven-Lehe became the first champions on the Lower Weser in 1899.

In the second season 1901/02 only two clubs took part in the league games of the association, from the following season 1902/03 only the master was known. In January 1902 the football association on the Lower Weser must have been dissolved. On July 10, 1903, a football association was founded on the Lower Weser , which must later probably have taken the old name of the FadU again.

In the 1905/06 season a championship was organized for the last time by the football association on the Unterweser, which then went up in District VIII (Bremen) of the North German Football Association . From 1912 to 1922 there was a separate District XI (Lower Weser) .
