Fu Daishi , also Fu-ta-shih called (傅大士) (* 497 , † 569 ) was a Zen - monk , poet and inventor .

Legend has it that he was a contemporary of Bodhidharma and is said to descend with him out of the Tushita heaven, where Maitreya waits for his turn to appear in the human world when the present Badra-Kalpa has come to an end. According to the tradition of Dentoroku (The Investigation of the Lamp), Fu's life was full of miracles. He is considered to be the inventor of the rotating bookcase Rinzo .
