David Magee

David Magee (* 1962 in Flint , Michigan ) is an American screenwriter and actor .

Life

David Magee in 1984 with a degree in theater studies at Michigan State University , and graduated later with a Masters in drama at the University of Illinois . At the same time, Magee was already acting and then went to New York , where he took part in an intensive program at New York University on filmmaking in 1998 .

Magee trained his writing craft during his acting studies when he had to rewrite scenes from well-known novels in order to be able to audition them himself. So it was at one of his acting meetings where he performed his own play and was approached by the film producer Nellie Bellflower , but to write the adaptation of the novel for the film When Dreams Learn To Fly . Magee told and could with his first script for a feature film several awards and nominations, including an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay and a nomination of the Golden Globe Award for Best Screenplay is obtained.
