The Fuga AG Lucerne is an internationally active Swiss trading company based in Lucerne . The retail range includes grain and grain by - products, sugar and sugar products, green coffee as well as starches and proteins . The third-generation family business employs 35 people and in 2006 generated sales of around 165 million Swiss francs.
history
Fuga ( Fu = feed, Ga = Gassmann ) was founded in 1928 by Fritz Kopp-Dober and Anton Gassmann together with other Lucerne entrepreneurs. The trading activity initially comprised grain and animal feed in Switzerland.
During the Second World War , Fuga was also heavily involved in mining , and from 1941 onwards it mined lignite on the Sonnenberg in Lucerne . After that, the company returned to its traditional trading activities. This expanded it in 1954 with the trade in coffee and sugar.
In 1965 Fuga built up the distribution of articles for the compound feed industry and developed into a service company.
After the death of Fritz Kopp-Dober senior in 1980, his son Fritz Kopp junior, who joined the company in 1948, took over the management of the company. In 1998 he handed over the operational management to a newly formed management consisting of his son Thomas Kopp and Anton Odermatt, but has continued to serve as Chairman of the Board of Directors ever since.
