Fujicolor CD

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Fujicolor CD is an " ISO 9660 " -compliant multisession CD-ROM based on the Orange Book standard and is used for digital archiving of analog photographs. It is mostly offered as an additional service in the development of 35mm or APS films, but is also available as an independent service.

General

The Fujicolor CD is an alternative to the well-known Kodak Picture CD or ImageCD and is mainly aimed at amateur photographers. The provider is Fuji Photo Film GmbH. The images from 35mm film are available in a resolution of 1848 × 1240 pixels and in APS film with 1848 × 1040 pixels. Initially the resolution was 1527 × 1024.

The digitized photographs are saved on the compact disc with 8 bits per color channel in the lossy JPEG format . A maximum of 5 films can be archived on each Fujicolor CD. Normally, the customer receives the digitized photos at the same time as the developed film and an index print.

Furnishing

A digital contact sheet (index print) is included so that the image files can be assigned to the associated paper prints . In order to guarantee the assignment between the negative film and the associated compact disc, the serial number of the film is printed on the CD in addition to the development date.

In addition to the photographs, there is also a program for viewing and rudimentary image processing of the photographs.
