Fumiko Yokoi
Fumiko Yokoi ( Japanese 横 井 文 子 , Yokoi Fumiko ; * around 1940 ) is a former Japanese badminton player .
Career
Fumiko Yokoi won her only national individual title at the Japanese Individual Championships in 1963. In 1965 she won the mixed title again. In the final of the Uber Cup 1966 , the world championship for women’s teams, she was able to defeat the USA with the Japanese team in 1966 and thus become world champion. Yokoi defeated Caroline Jensen in two sets with 12:11 and 11: 3.
