Fumio Yamamoto

Fumio Yamamoto ( Japanese 山 本 文 緒 , Yamamoto Fumio ; born November 13, 1962 in Yokohama , Kanagawa Prefecture ) is a Japanese writer.

Yamamoto worked as an office clerk for a Japanese company. For her debut novel and girls Puremiamu Puru no hibi ( プレミアム·プールの日々 ) she received an honorable mention in 1987 at the Cobalt -Romanpreis ( cobalt Novel shō ). After further youth novels followed in 1992 with pineapple no no kanata ( パ イ ナ ッ プ ル の 彼方 , Painappuru no kanata ) her first novel for an adult audience. In 1999 the novel Ren'ai chūdoku ( 恋愛 中毒 ) was published, for which she received the Yoshikawa Eiji Prize for Young Authors and which was adapted as a drama television series the following year . In 2001 she was awarded the Naoki Prize for Puranaria ( プ ラ ナ リ ア ) . In 2008 the short story volume A Cappella ( ア カ ペ ラ , Akapera ) was published.
