So far, the aid organization is active in three Colombian cities:
- Barranquilla (headquarters of Pies Descalzos and birthplace of the founder Shakira),
- Bogotá (capital of Colombia)
- Quibdó
- Altos de Cazucá
- Cartagena (coast of Colombia).
Shakira founded the foundation after her first major financial success, her album of the same name "Pies Descalzos".
In addition to one-off donations, you can also sponsor a child in need.
philosophy
The foundation's philosophy is to enable children to go to school. The children receive meals at school, which in turn is a reason for the parents to send the children to school. The schools also offer help and psychological support for parents as well as leisure activities for the children and young people in the area who do not attend school.
