Veneer saw or cutter

A veneer saw is a hand saw or sawing machine in wood processing to veneers to cut or veneer packages for further processing.

As a hand saw, the veneer saw consists of a cranked handle with a small oval saw blade. The offset enables safe guidance at a stop when cutting. The blade is toothed on both sides, the small knife- edged teeth are on tension and are not set .

Veneer saw originally referred to machines for the production of sawn veneer.

Veneer saw

In the meantime, the term veneer saw is often used for veneer joining machines that are used to cleanly create the joints when assembling veneers. In the version often used in carpentry shops, it consists of a work table with a pressure beam attached to the long side and a circular saw in front of it.
