Furtschellas is a small ski area in the Engadin in the Swiss canton of Graubünden, which is directly adjacent to Sils-Maria . The extensive area is accessible with only a few lifts and offers a diverse mountain landscape. Furtschellas is part of the larger Corvatsch -Furtschellas ski area .

Due to its geological significance as manganese - deposit with lenticular and manganese ores in the silicon-containing schists Furtschellas is also known as wide for various manganese minerals such as, but Alleghanyite , Ardennit- (As) , Braunit , Friedelit , galaxite , Parsettensite , Pyrosmalith- (Mn) , Pyroxmangit , rhodochrosite , rhodonite , Sonolith , Spessartin , Tephroit and Todorokit and the Calcitvarietät Manganocalcit and almost everywhere to be found quartz .
