Futuro (language)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Futuro [ futuɾo ] is a time form the future in the Spanish language .

use

The tense of the future is used almost exclusively in the written language . It is often found in poetic texts such as B. Poems and songs where the form is popular because of its sound.

In the spoken language , especially in South America , the futuro is mostly replaced by a combination of the verb ir (to go), the preposition a and the infinitive of the respective verb. However, it is sometimes used to emphasize projects that are still uncertain (e.g. Algún día viajaré a España - at some point I will travel to Spain).

Example for the replacement by ir + a + infinitive (Futuro Popular)

  • Futuro: (Yo) haré (from the verb hacer )
  • Replacement with Futuro Popular: (Yo) voy a hacer

(Translation of both sentences: I will do )
