Gérard Jeitz (born March 10, 1961 in Esch an der Alzette ) is a former Luxembourg football player and today's functionary and trainer .

Player career

At the age of 18, Jeitz began his career in the senior sector at US Rümelingen in 1979 . After six years, he moved to Spora Luxemburg in the state capital in 1985 . From there he went to the city rivals Union in 1988 . Here he had his most successful sporting period. With Union he was Luxembourg champion three times in a row from 1990 to 1992 and cup winners in 1989 and 1991 . After winning the championship in 1992, he ended his active career.

National team

Jeitz played for the Luxembourg national team between 1983 and 1991 a total of 26 internationals in which he did not score. He made his debut on November 16, 1983 in the European Championship qualifier against England (0: 4) and ended his international career with the game against Germany (0: 4) on December 18, 1991.

Further career

Jeitz stepped in several times as interim trainer at US Rümelingen, most recently in April 2019 when he replaced Sven Lorscheider five days before the end of the season. Since 2006 he has been president of US Rumelange.
