Gö Lotsawa Shönnu Pel ( Tib . : 'gos lo tsā ba gzhon nu dpal ; * 1392 ; † 1481 ; the translator Shönnu Pel of the Gö ) was an important historian, author and lama of Tibetan Buddhism .

Gö Lotsawa Shönnu Pel was a disciple of Tsongkhapa , the founder of Gelugpa , from whom he received Lamrim teachings. From the 5th Karmapa Deshin Shegpa he received the bodhisattva vows . The 7th Karmapa Chödrag Gyatsho he in turn transmitted the “Semdrel Korsum” (Tib .: sems' grel skor gsum ; the “Bodhisattva Trilogy”).

The literary life's work (Tib .: gsung 'bum ) Shönnu Pels comprises 10 volumes. His best-known works include the “ Blue Annals ” (tib .: deb ther sngon po ), which were translated into English by George Roerich and Gendün Chöphel , and his commentary on the Ratnagotravibhaga .
