The Gökçe Dam ( Turkish Gökçe Barajı ) is a dam on the Gökçedere, a tributary of the Marmara Sea , in the Yalova Province in northwestern Turkey .
The Gökçe Dam is located 7 km southwest of the coastal and provincial capital Yalova in the hinterland of the Marmara Sea coast . It was built between 1980–1989 to supply Yalova with drinking water . The barrier structure is a 50 m high stone embankment dam . The dam volume is 1,330,000 m³. The reservoir covers an area of 1.275 km² with normal damming. The storage space is 25.5 million m³. The dam supplies 36.6 million m³ of drinking water a year.
