Göteborgs IF

Göteborgs Idrottsförbund , Göteborgs IF for short, is a former Swedish football club from Gothenburg .

Göteborgs IF was created on November 16, 1900 from the merger of the clubs Göteborgs Velocipedklubb , Skridskosällskapet Norden and IS Lyckans Soldater . Three years later, the club managed to win the Swedish championship title when the local rivals Göteborgs FF were defeated 5-2 in the final game of Svenska Mästerskapet .
