Svenska Mästerskapet
Svenska Mästerskapet was the championship finals in Swedish football until the introduction of the Allsvenskan in 1924.
history
The competition has been organized by different associations in its 30-year history. In 1896 the championship round started under the direction of Svenska Idrottsförbundet . In 1904 the Riksidrottsförbundet formally took over the organization, but this was delegated to the Svenska Bollspelsförbundet . In 1905, the Bollspelsförbundet and Svenska Fotbollförbundet, which was newly founded in the previous year, shared the management, before the championship was held exclusively by Svenska Fotbollförbundet from the following year. The title fights held by Idrottförbundet between 1896 and 1903 were later recognized as official championships by Fotbollförbundet.
The Swedish champions received the Von Rosens Cup , named after the first chairman of the Swedish Football Association, Clarence von Rosen , from 1904 . This had previously been awarded by him as the trophy of the Rosenska Cup , which began in 1899 and which became part of the championship after the championship was held by the Fotbollförbundet.
The outstanding team in the early years of Swedish football was the Gothenburg club Örgryte IS , which won eleven titles and was involved in the first football match between two Swedish teams - IS Lyckan's soldier was an opponent on May 22, 1892 . Especially Gothenburg - Örgryte IS, IFK Göteborg , GAIS and Göteborgs IF won a total of 17 championships - and Stockholm clubs - AIK and Djurgårdens IF won the title together ten times - dominated the competition.
