Götz Twiehoff

Götz Twiehoff (born August 12,  1985 in Leichlingen ) is a former German basketball player . The 1.98 meter long winger played for Bayer Leverkusen in the second division.

career

Twiehoff played at his hometown club Leichlinger TV, in the youth department of Bayer Leverkusen , then at Leichlinger TV in the men's team and in 2009 moved to the regional division BSG Grevenbroich . During his three-year BSG time, Twiehoff was voted one of the fifth best German players in the 1st Regionalliga West twice, namely in the 2010/11 and 2011/12 seasons by the internet service eurobasket.com .

In 2012 he returned to Leverkusen and was  promptly a top performer for Bayer in the 2nd Bundesliga ProB . In the first year after his return (2012/13), Twiehoff won the ProB championship with the factory team and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga ProA . The winger made it into the second-highest German league without any problems, eurobasket.com named him the best ProA newcomer of the 2013/14 season. In 2016, Twiehoff suffered relegation from the 2nd Bundesliga ProA with Leverkusen. He remained loyal to Bayer in the ProB and was meanwhile promoted to team captain.

In mid-May 2018, he ended his basketball career.
